Dazed cover star Amandla Stenberg is a fiercely outspoken, sharply intelligent teenager, but she’s not the only one. 13-year old Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard answered a fan’s question on Tumblr concerning the issues with "white feminism". For someone so young, her articulate and measured response is hugely impressive. Blanchard adeptly discusses the idea that police and brutality and race issues are white feminism’s problem too, but ones that have not been adopted properly by the movement. She doesn’t really leave any stone unturned in the essay, calling out online homophobia and saying that "gay is simply not an insult" and drilling home the importance of protecting trans youth. It’s a great read, but made even more jaw-dropping by her age – she’s clearly extremely well-informed and super bright. Read the whole thing below.
