Arts+Culture / NewsDrake launches streaming service in vintage Apple jacketTech giants prepare to do battle with Spotify and Tidal – with a little help from DrizzyShareLink copied ✔️June 9, 2015Arts+CultureNewsText Thomas Gorton Apple took the fight to Spotify and Tidal yesterday with the announcement of Apple Music, its brand-new music streaming service to be launched on June 30. At the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, a slightly nervy Drake (rumoured to have been paid $19 million for the partnership) introduced Apple Music and Connect wearing a jacket that everybody absolutely loves. Granted, it's a nice jacket, but people are running round Twitter talking like they ain't never seen vintage Apple employees' clothing. Drake did actually mention his jacket during his opening speech, saying, "I bought this jacket using a tool known in the rap world known as the internet". LOLZ, man, Drake is funny. willing to sell my soul for @Drake's vintage apple jacket pic.twitter.com/fOL2WQKH1h— Candice (@uncommonCandice) June 8, 2015 The rapper said he paid $825 for the jacket, but a quick search on eBay reveals a "Buy It Now" price of $10,000. If you're reading this, you might be too late. Man, I'm funny too. The listing reads: "Up for sale is the IDENTICAL jacket worn by Drake at WWDC, but in even BETTER CONDITION. Appears to have little to no use. Bought both at an auction, this rare Apple Computers jacket varsity/baseball style jacket was given to Apple employees, at the time of the 'rainbow' logo. This is a true APPLE classic and a rare piece of history." Guess you need to pay more cash-money for something Drizzy's been seen out in. Apple will probably be pleased with the launch of Apple Music - it was nowhere near as weird as Tidal's. Escape the algorithm!
