Arts+Culture / News66-year-old Nebraskan woman is suing all gay peopleThis is not a joke. Incredibly, the federal lawsuit is titled ‘Driskell v Homosexuals’ShareLink copied ✔️May 6, 2015Arts+CultureNewsTextThomas Gorton Sylvia Driskell is a 66-year old woman who lives in Nebraska and it looks like she's looking for things to do a year into retirement, because she's taken on a fairly insurmountable task. She's suing all homosexuals. Driskell describes herself as an ambassador for God and Jesus Christ and wants America to abide by the moral principles she believes it was founded on. She is petitioning the U.S. District Court of Omaha to be heard "in the matter of homosexuality. Is homosexuality a sin, or not a sin?" Legal information site Justia archives the case with the plaintiffs as "Sylvia Ann Driskell, God and Jesus Christ" and the defendants simply as "Homosexuals". The lawsuit is titled "Driskell Vs Homosexuals". Driskell will represent herself in the case, presumably because one imagines it'd be difficult to find an attorney willing to take on such a battle. In the unlikely event that this case reaches the courtroom, where are all the homosexuals going to go? Gonna be a real squeeze. Patheos obtained a copy of the handwritten lawsuit, containing the immortal line: "I Sylvia Ann Driskell, contend that homosexuality is a sin, and that they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in a closet?" Good question. I think if I knew Sylvia Driskell was coming anywhere near me, I might hide in a closet too. Escape the algorithm!
