Porn star Nikki Benz has announced her candidacy for Toronto mayor in the coming election. The post is currently held by the beleagured Rob Ford, who has been caught on camera in the past making racist, sexist, homophobic comments while smoking crack. He's unlikely to welcome the challenge of outpolling an even more colourful candidate – a blonde bombshell with interesting promises at the centre of her campaign.

Benz, star of Meet The Fuckers 6 and Take No Prisoners, told the Toronto Sun: "I can do a great job at running the city. If Rob Ford can do it, I can do it." Let's be fair, she's probably right. Benz has pledged to make May 7 National Masturbation Day (although how this is to be celebrated is unclear) and vows that her election as mayor will generate huge profits for the Canadian city. And, of course, massive publicity for her body of work.

45-year-old Ford has currently got his "out of office" on as mayor as he spends some time in rehab at the moment, so has presumably the left the day-to-day running of Toronto to whoever's around. Meanwhile, Benz's acting CV is littered with awards, including Hottest Body, "Best Couples Sex Scene and Best Three Way Sex Scene.

While Ford has claimed that "rehab has been amazing", and that he's "planning to kick some serious butt on his return", Benz seems focused, determined and is far better looking. Watch this weird space.
