Whilst having played Creamfields and for Annie Mac they also fit right into Reading Festival or the supporting bill for Doves and Super Furry Animals. “It’s not rave,“ claims Rick, “There may be references to 90s dance music but we also love Bjork, Radiohead, Kraftwerk and, at the other end of the spectrum Xenomania.” Once their debut single was released on Belgium’s classic 90s techno label R&S Records home to Aphex Twin and Derrick May, Ewan Pearson heard the band and subsequently took over studio duties for the album. Wholly involved with their music and to take more control of it, the album will also be appearing on their own Chimeric label through Polydor, whilst they will also making their own artwork and even filming their TV adverts. Can you recommend...... three new acts?Everything EverythingHurtsFloating Points... three old acts?Scott WalkerThe OrbRobert Wyatt... a record label?4AD - previously Cocteau Twins, Pixies, Stereolab etc... now TV on the Radio, Deerhunter and Scott Walker...... a website?www.neave.com/strobe/ - like dropping acid, but not... ... a film?Ten Canoes by Rolf De Heer... a book?Great Apes by Will Self... something on YouTube?Nina Simone - I Loves You Porgy... a shop / place to eat?Katsouris Deli on Deansgate in Manchester... something to do on a day off?Go to Lyme Park in Disley... a song everyone should hear?
