Formerly half of Radio Slave on remix duties for the likes of Fischerspooner, Benny Bennassi, Tiga, and Justin Timberlake, London producer Serge Santiago as a solo producer has been releasing vinyl-only Italo-disco edits since his first 'Atto D’Amore' EP on his own label Arcobaleno, which translating as 'rainbow' in Italian coincides with each release being cleverly printed in a different colour. He then went on to have recently remix Shit Robot's 'Simple Things' after his takes on Hercules And Love Affair, Goldfrapp, Kris Menace, and Caspa tracks with a more electro-tinged sound.

One half of his musical collaboration Retro/Grade with Tom Neville, they recently released 'Moda', a beast of a track having been played in the sets of everyone from Boys Noize to Erol Alkan, A-Trak and Simian Mobile Disco in addition to their past of buzzy disco tracks since 2005.

Establishing his grown-up modern take on deep Italo-disco and applying his in-depth knowledge being a connoisseur of that deep disco sound, here's his epic exclusive mix for Dazed whilst he talks to us about having size 19 feet and forgetting to flush...

...so special about you, then?
I’m 1ft tall with hands like frying pans, wear size 19 shoes and glow in the dark; I’m also good with animals.

Baggy jeans; looking back at pictures from Ibiza a couple of years back is degrading. I look like something from Bill and Ted.

...made you decide to do the Retro/Grade project? How is it different to your solo stuff?
You can only go so far with solo projects after a while, if you don’t make it with one thing you try another. Retro/Grade is my step up. It’s the project that’s going to make it. Tom (Neville) and I have worked very hard on bringing an old (unexplored for some) sound forward; Modernising it to stop the screams of terror from the crowd as an unexpected chord changes would take a track in the original form.
