Fashion / OverdoseDazed Overdose: Sat 12th Sept: David St John JamesFrom tennis playing at Lacoste to films for Tim Hamilton, the opening of New York Fashion Week braves the gloomy weather.ShareLink copied ✔️September 12, 2009FashionOverdoseText David St.John-James My first day of NY fashion week began with the grunting sound of Tennis players at Lacoste a reminder of the US Open in another part of town. Very Lartigue glamour and Tender is the Night. Yet it was a very bright start to the day in spite of the dreary Londonesque weather outside. Being so close to the tents at Bryant Park a visit was paid afterward to the exhibition of Richard Avedon at The International Center of Photography on 43rd St. Super charged fashion to really get you in the mood. Afterwards a back to back stream of fashion ensued, taking in Richard Chai Woman and Man, Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, a Band of Outsiders presentation. The Latter, a beautiful film made by outstanding Photographer Collier Schorr. It was for designer Tim Hamilton. A lovely evening on top of a tall building in Tribeca, with a beautiful view of NY and fresh air. At least enough to take a deep breath and look forward to the future. Escape the algorithm!
