The MA graduate show is one of the most exciting places to discover the new fashion stars of the future. Weeks before the MA show in June, as students are scurrying around finishing or starting their collections depending on how many elves they have at their disposal, we at Dazed exclusively get a sneak preview of some of the newest and freshest menswear and womenswear talent that will be unleashed this year. We also asked the students to describe their collections in their own words. Royal College of Art Fashion Show 2009 is on June 10, at 4pm and 7pm. Tickets can be purchased here.Lookbook Images: Womenswear by Nathan Small. Menswear by Nick Clements._______________________________________________________Johanne Andersen"Living in a magpie’s nest. Speckled eggs and feathers, the magpie’s black eye, collecting strange things and shiny stuff. Fake jewellery, bolts, watches, a silver spoon, metal pieces, an old worn denim jacket, keys and candy sticks develop into prints, shapes and heavy beading. The collection takes inspiration from the universe inside and around a magpie’s nest." _______________________________________________________Dulcie Wanless"I am inspired by Brancusi’s sensual sculptures, which project the sassy, illusive woman. I have developed all the possibilities I love about knitwear, sculpted volume, dense surface textures and the mixing of matt and shine qualities." Escape the algorithm!
