So often the Paris-based Paule Ka slips off the fashion radar due to it's slightly odd status of being just under the rungs of pret a porter. They don't have a catwalk show yet their clothes are often worthy of one and this season, once again they dance between the borders of a mid-range label and a luxury brand. Creative director Serge Cajfinger went back to the Paule Ka classics but also based a lot of the designs on the human anatomy. Clothing as a second skin is the real emphasis here as seen in the nude and tight silhouettes and assemblies of black and flesh elastic. Glimpses of the body can also be seen through the structural sheer nylon and thick organzas. Cycling shorts embroidered with sequins and crystals are used to punctuate the collection like a decorative body armour. Even something as delicate as feathers are given a harder edge as they are coerced into strict graphic lines. The shoes too are purposefully integrated with the body's silhouette creating another type of second skin. At the presentation, a video was projected depicting the model Romina Larano morphing into simple anatomical forms, reinforcing Cajfinger's intentions in celebrating the bodily form for next season.

From body exterior to introspection, Paule Ka has also launched a short film project to celebrate the success of its 'Cabas Ka' bag, asking a number of actresses to empty their bags. Based around the French saying "vide ton sac" which can mean to empty one's bag but can also be mean expressing yourself about something. Participants include Cecile Cassel, Frederique Bel, and Julie Fournier and a new film will be unveiled online every Wednesday.
