Hop into the metaverse with REALM and Oseanworld’s latest collab

Nu Radio showcases in New York next week

Working at the intersection of anime and pop culture, digital artist Oseanworld has collaborated with everyone from Offset to Trippie Redd. His glitched-out artworks, featuring 3D rendered stuffed animals and cutesy floating creatures, has earned him fans by the likes of Kanye West – and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Now, the 25-year-old is joining forces with metaverse platform REALM to launch Nu Radio, a blockchain-powered metaverse space imagined by Oseanworld. Set against the pixellated backdrop of candy-coloured vistas, and a towering Mad Monkeii (one of Oceanworld’s signature characters), players can socialise, discover quests and Nu Radio racing; a multiplayer racing game complete with prizes and custom Oseanworld avatars with unique accessories that can be won or purchased in Nu Radio.

“I want to explore, I want to see a different world and I want to share that with my friends in as many ways as possible,” said Oceanworld. “ I wanted to build a game that allows you to feel free with everyone. And become completely unique in a world behind a screen.”

With its official launch slated for June 21, REALM – dubbed ‘the people’s metaverse’ – brings together AR, VR and mixed reality to bring forth immersive worlds where creators and brands can build communities via the quest builder, add gamification layers like event ticketing, live audio, and 3D sound, which users can access via digital portals.

Coinciding with the release, Nu Radio will be showcased between June 21 and 22 at NFT.NYC, an NFT event in New York, and will be available on iOS and android, with PC and VR versions to follow.

If you don’t want to wait that long, a Nu Radio-themed pop-up will take place in New York’s Elizabeth Street. Attendees can take part in an Augmented Reality scavenger hunt, featuring a trippy neon arcade where fans and media will get a first chance to explore Oseanworld’s latest adventure, win prizes from his digital and physical clothing and accessories collections.
