In attempt to find all of their favourite brands, which will result in an alternative list of the coolest brands in town, and provide an enlightening comparison to the official selection, Dazed Digital ran a poll in which readers can vote for the best labels.

Each year, the CoolBrands survey identifies the most innovative and stylish brands of the moment, their annual book has previously featured everything from the tempting allure of Häagen-Dazs to the sensual seduction of Agent Provocateur. The official selection is chosen by brand experts and the public, but in 2008, Dazed readers also got the chance to have their voices heard.

Fashion labels, unsurprisingly, dominated the top 50 brands in the poll, but the high positions of websites like Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook and YouTube gave a clue to how most of you spend your office hours, while Tate Modern, the Barbican and the Design Museum proved that real culture isn't quite dead yet. Over brands like M.A.C, Beyond Retro, Ray Ban, Chanel, Topshop, and The Guardian, Vivienne Westwood won in 2008 coming second only to Dazed & Confused itself. But we won’t brag too much.
