“I’m most proud of starting the transition towards becoming myself,” says model Nathan Westling. The former Dazed cover star – who had been ubiquitous on the womenswear catwalks for years, and fronted campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and Celine (to name but a few) – reintroduced himself to the industry in March, coming out as transgender in an Instagram post and a CNN Style profile, with a portrait lensed by Collier Schorr. “It was a daunting decision, but I couldn’t be happier now,” Nathan says.
For the past few months, the Arizona-born Nathan has been living in Los Angeles, but he will soon move back to New York City. Represented by The Society Management and Elite London, he’s excited to start this new chapter of his life and career. “I’m driven by the opportunity to work because I can create something that inspires others,” he says. “I never forget that it’s a privilege.”
