This year will see Helena Howard make her big screen debut in the Sundance favourite 'Madeline's Madeline'
Having played the protagonist in the Sundance favourite Madeline’s Madeline – an experimental exploration of a mental health crisis coming between a mother and daughter – The Hollywood Reporter described actor Helena Howard as “volcanically gifted”. The team behind the forthcoming film, which sees breakout Howard star opposite Miranda July, originally plucked the young talent from a high school acting competition. After seeing her perform, they said they knew she was perfect for the part.
Not only did Madeline’s Madeline earn her a host of rave reviews after the film festival, her portrayal of psychological turmoil as an unstable teen caught the eye of the WME agency who signed her immediately. Now as the film gears up for it’s New York release in August, she says she’s humbled by the opportunities coming her way and says she hopes her projects will empower and help others through art. With a possible HBO show and a film directed with Tim Erem on the horizon, her career is only on the up.
