Based in Texas, Fagan’s images lead the viewer through a mystery of grainy charm and offbeat angles that can only be achieved with a film camera as he explores his fascination with the female form. “I hope to strike human imagination when my work is viewed upon by others,” he explains. “I like to think that there is a sense of simplicity with a tease of minimalistic flavour.” His latest series “Pale” is a dreamy narrative of beaches, bedrooms and beauty: “These photos are taken through different tastes of inspiration from things I see on the Internet, witness in person, or through emotion,” Fagan explains, continuing, “I generally create the story as the photo is being processed – I enjoy the idea of my viewers creating their own stories for my photographs. I think art is interesting because of how subjective it is; you and I can look at the same thing, but can see something completely different.” Completely at one with his camera, his surroundings and the beauty of his subjects, there isn’t much the artist isn’t inspired by. “I have a deep love for this planet and everything on it,” he reveals, "I think the female anatomy is the main source of inspiration for any creative outlet.” To see more of Fagan’s work, click here Photography Cary FaganEscape the algorithm!
