Alongside playing his part in electronic group Black Moth Super Rainbow, Chicago-based producer Dreamend aka Ryan Graveface, is also the brains behind, of course, Graveface Records. As well as playing home to bands such as Hospital Ships and Blue Water White Death, his label was also the US outlet for his album, ‘So I Ate Myself, Bite by Bite’, which was on Memphis Industries in the UK. Moving from the usual synth-pop of BMSR to take on a 'nightmarish American folk sound', Dreamend relies heavily on layered banjos, bells, and distorted guitars to atmospheric effects.

...your worst vice?
Ripping all the skin off my thumbs. It's fucking disgusting but it feeds my horrific nervous disorder.

.the story behind your name?
Unfortunately there is no story. Everything, including music, comes to me in sleep.  I am not responsible for any of it. My overactive mind is. I only sleep for about 2-4 hours a night and those few hours are quite active.  Makes me feel like I haven't slept at all in fact.

... your favourite sound?
Definitely the ocean sans people around.

...your worst fashion secret?
That I'm wearing the same clothing I've been wearing since I was 15. I cannot justify spending money on clothing. It should go towards some element of Graveface.

...your favourite website?
The Savannah version of Craigslist. Fucking mental.

... good for breakfast?
I'm a super-wanker about food so if I go out, it needs to be pretty fucking unique. But my daily breakfast at home tends to be organic blueberry yogurt with a certain Kashi & added fresh blueberries on top.

...at the top of your shit list?
My former music distributor in the US. They've been holding my stock hostage for the past eight months and it looks like I'm going to have to sue. It's amazing what people do when they are having money problems.

The Howard Stern Show and on commercial breaks the new Appleseed Cast EP.

How would you describe your work?
Intense as fuck.  Non-stop nonsense geared towards those that truly have an independent spirit.  Not what's considered 'indie' in mainstream culture, but actual independence. I touch every single copy of every single Graveface album by way of hand-assembly or stuffing etc. Working 20 hours a day till I die!
