Alongside remixes from Tensnake, Kolombo, Matias Aguayo & Cosmo Vitelli and reworking tracks from Booka Shade, HEALTH and Uffie themselves, Azari & III’s first two singles were championed by the likes of Erol Alkan, Hercules & Love Affair, and Friendly Fires, where their epic Chicago house sounds have paved the way for yet another revival of faded denim and fingerless leather gloves, yay. Dazed Digital: What do you think makes a great house anthem?Dinamo Azari: A Basement, A Red Light, A Feeling.Alixander III: 400 people on the same batch of drugs. DD: So your new EP is out on Turbo Recordings, how's the crew been treating you? Dinamo Azari: We rented out the penthouse of the Empire State building, New York to celebrate. 300 bottles of Don, all our friends were flown in and Tiga played the whole night naked! We love these guys! Alixander III: Yep, properly jumped in, and the bruises to show for it. DD: How did you get involved with Permanent Vacation? Dinamo Azari: We got the White Tigers. DD: What do you think sparked off the current disco (edits/deep house) revival? Fritz: Maybe people started having good sex again...? SYF: I guess I agree with Fritz. People brought down their walls. Alixander III: I dunno, buts it's time for another Comiskey Park. Dinamo Azari: Yeah. But not the aggression or violence or whatever you want to call it. I'm not for guerrilla warfare. DD: What is your favourite sound? Dinamo Azari: Bring back Jungle Techno, better than Witch House! Alixander III: Relentless, mind altering, challenging and rewarding. DD: What are you listening to now? SYF: A bit of everything, disco, house and techno. Been revisiting Snap, Kings of Tomorrow (haha)… Alixander III: Best Coast, Zeus, Magnetic Fields, Magnetic Zeros... Dinamo Azari: Gil Scott-Heron, Jimi Hendrix, Liquid Liquid... DD: What's next for you guys? Dinamo Azari: Ups and downs, smiles and frowns - the journey begins... Alixander III: Shit I'm tired just thinking about it.... Azari & III’s self-titled debut LP is apparently out on Turbo this winter. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
