For the first time, Dazed is teaming up with the UK Music Video Awards to help select the winner of the Best Styling award.

Taking place at Magazine London on October 30, the annual event will once again spotlight creative excellence in music visuals and the best talent bringing them to life from behind the lens across 38 separate categories.

Among the craftspeople celebrated at the UK Music Video Awards, wardrobe stylists, costume designers, hair and make-up artists and special effects artists are recognised with the Best Styling in a Video award, this year sponsored by Dazed.

Last year’s winner was British costume designer, Lucy James, for her work on Fontaines D.C.’s “Here’s The Thing”. Ellie Walker picked up two nominations for her work on Jade’s “Angel of My Dreams”, alongside Zack Tate and Jamie McFarland, and on Fontaines D.C.’s “Starburster”. They were joined in the line-up by the styling team behind Charli xcx’s “360” (Chris Horan, Isamaya Ffrench and Kashay “Cache” Dorsay), Stephy Galvani for Crystal Murray’s “Starmaniak”, and Dihantus Engelbrecht for “Free Nationals”, A$AP Rocky and Anderson .Paak’s “Gangsta”.

Other winners in the category in recent years have included Matthew Josephs & Natalie Roar for Joy Crookes’ “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” and Temitope Uduak Betiku and Ashley Okoli for Little Simz and Obongjayar’s “Point and Kill”.

Dazed Editor-In-Chief Ted Stansfield said of the partnership, “We are proud to be partnering with the UK Music Video Awards, who have celebrated music videos and the creatives behind them since 2008, for the first time. With a long lineage of top-level stylists having come through the ranks at Dazed over the years – having input on the winner of this year's Best Styling award feels like the perfect match, as we celebrate a new generation of fashion talent.”

For those hoping to be nominated, the UK MVAs is inviting entries from music video creators from around the world to submit projects via their official website. The deadline for entries is Friday, August 1.
