LISA is the first BLACKPINK artist to release a full-length solo album, although each member has released singles independently. The full-length project announcement trailer casts the Thai-born K-pop star in five distinct sci-fi locations, including a Blade Runner-esque warp tunnel, a thunderous hellscape and a verdant mystical glade, each reported to represent a different aspect of LISA’s identity. The chart-topping artist is then depicted travelling between these locations through a five-pointed star which is reported to become a key emblem of the upcoming album campaign. The three-minute announcement video also features excerpts from LISA’s three successful solo singles released this year – “Rockstar,” “New Woman ft. ROSALIA,” and “Moonlit Floor” – suggesting their inclusion in next year’s release. The trailer arrives in the wake of news that LISA will also be making her acting debut next year in the upcoming third series of HBO’s psychological comedy-drama The White Lotus, which is set in her home country of Thailand. In a sneak peek unveiled by HBO last week, LISA’s character was revealed to be a hotel manager named Mook, shown welcoming guests to the idyllic White Lotus Thailand resort. Released alongside the trailer, is the album’s cover – a solo shot of the performer wearing a black shawl and matching black nails.
