She’s back! Watch a clip of Billie Eilish’s new track, ‘Happier Than Ever’

The artist has announced a new single with a 15-second snippet

Last week, Billie Eilish shared a photo of herself on Instagram, teasing fans that “things are coming”. Now, it seems that thing is a new single, as the artist has shared a 15-second clip of a track called “Happier Than Ever”.

In the short snippet, a newly-blonde Eilish slowly turns around as the camera zooms in on her. Over a gentle acoustic guitar, she sings: “When I’m away from you, I’m happier than ever”. Eilish shared the clip with just the song title as the caption.

In February, the artist appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where she revealed that she created a whole album during lockdown. “I don’t think I would have made the same album, or even the album at all, if it weren’t for COVID,” she said. “That doesn’t mean it’s about COVID at all, it’s just that, when things are different in your life, you’re different. That’s just how it is. So, I have to thank COVID for that, and that’s about it.”

Eilish didn’t share any more details of the album, nor a possible release date, but explained that there’s “a couple of moments” where she “pulls some tricks out”, and added: “It’s really just about what I feel like sounds good.”

Also in February, the “bad guy” singer dropped her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry, which offers an in-depth look at the recording of her debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, as well as her subsequent rise to fame. Speaking to Colbert, she said filming the documentary was “very invasive” but also “fun”, and asserted that “it’s not everything. You’re seeing a sliver of my life at that time”.
