Lana Del Rey has already announced a new album, Rock Candy Sweet

The Chemtrails Over the Country Club follow-up is set to arrive on June 1

Shortly after releasing Norman Fucking Rockwell! in 2019, Lana Del Rey announced the album’s follow-up, which would come to fruition with the release of Chemtrails Over the Country Club earlier this week. Now, she seems to be following the same pattern, announcing yet another new record with an imminent release date.

Titled Rock Candy Sweet, the singer’s eighth studio album is set to arrive June 1, according to an announcement posted to Del Rey’s Instagram. Admittedly, this date should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, given that Chemtrails was originally scheduled to release in mid 2020.

Alongside the announcement, Del Rey has also shared an Instagram story, referencing a Harper’s Bazaar article that highlighted her bizarre comments about the Chemtrails album cover back in January.

“Just want to thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse,” she writes over a screenshot of the article. “I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”

Released on March 19, Chemtrails Over the Country Club came alongside a new video for the opening track, “White Dress”. The album’s title track, as well as the lead single “Let Me Love You Like a Woman”, arrived with visuals ahead of the record’s release.
