Riot grrrl Kathleen Hanna drops a new mix for NTS Radio

The Bikini Kill front woman has taken over Brain Dead’s resident radio show

Feminist punk icon Kathleen Hanna has shared a new, hour-long mix via NTS Radio.

The Bikini Kill frontwoman and riot grrrl took over Brain Dead's resident radio show on January 11. Her picks include Delta 5, Tacocat, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, and Grace Jones.

Bikini Kill released three albums across the mid-90s, including the seminal Pussy Whipped in 1993. Since their break-up in 1997, the band has gone onto work various side projects, including Hanna’s The Julie Ruin and Le Tigre.

In 2019, they announced they would return to touring for the first time in over 20 years, with a string of shows meant to kick off last year. The tour was cancelled due to coronavirus but has been rescheduled for later this year.
