Aphex Twin posters and billboards pop up in cities around the world

The iconic logo has appeared in London, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Bristol over the past week

Aphex Twin’s iconic logo has been turning up on billboards and posters in cities around the world. New artwork has appeared in London, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Bristol over the past week, social media users have noticed.

Back in July, the London Design Museum’s Electronic Music exhibition featured a mysterious use of the logo in the top right corner of a display from Aphex Twin’s frequent visual collaborator Weirdcore. It also appeared at the capital’s Phonica record shop window, Bristol’s Turbo Island, Berlin’s Moritzplatz district in Kreuzberg, and a billboard in Los Angeles.

The project seems to be a collaboration with Novation, the music equipment manufacturer. The company shared a series of images on Instagram yesterday (October 7) of the artwork and noted that more information was “incoming” on October 20, and included the hashtag #WeAreNovation.

Aphex Twin has worked with Novation before on their Bass Station II synthesiser, so the collaboration could be a new piece of hardware. In the past, Aphex Twin worked with KORG on their Monologue synthesiser, and released the Korg Trax collection alongside it, although if it were another synth collaboration it’s not clear if he would release new music again.

Check out some photos of the posters below.
