Watch Billie Eilish perform ‘No Time to Die’ on Fallon

Eilish and brother-collaborator FINNEAS also spoke about creating the Bond theme and receiving advice from Alicia Keys

Billie Eilish was the musical guest on the most recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she performed the new James Bond theme “No Time to Die”, alongside her brother-collaborator FINNEAS.

Coinciding with Global James Bond Day on October 5, the brooding, black-and-white performance was accompanied by an interview with the pair, who discussed the creative process behind the song.

“We kind of started with making sure we got a melody we thought was really solid before we tried any lyrics out,” said Eilish, adding: “We both think it’s really important to have the title of the movie be in the song and have the song be called that, because it wouldn’t be satisfying otherwise.”

They also discussed their monumental night at this year’s Grammys, in which Eilish won five awards, including best new artist and song of the year. Eilish told Fallon about how she received a message from Alicia Keys the following day, saying: “Don’t be embarrassed for being dope.”

The “bad guy” singer was also among those speaking to Sir David Attenborough in a video addressing the issues faced by impending environmental disaster. Elsewhere, Eilish’s documentary The World’s a Little Blurry will hit cinemas and Apple’s premium streaming platform, Apple TV+, in February 2021.
