After teasing the track earlier this week, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have released their joint single “WAP”, accompanied by a star-studded music video that features cameo appearances from the likes of Kylie Jenner, Rosalía, and Normani.
In the music video, both Cardi and Megan strut the trippy hallways of a hotel (decorated with titty-shaped water fountains) where wild animals casually appear to roam free.
Speaking on New Music Daily for Apple Music, Cardi B said: “I wanted a lot of different females, not just female rappers… Y’all going to see it on the music video as well, from models to influencers and everything.”
Also starring in the music video are rappers Rubi Rose, Sukihana, and Mulatto. “These are the girls that I personally like. That I like their music. That I really feel they are going to go mainstream,” she added.
“WAP” is Cardi B’s first track as a lead artist since 2019’s “Press” (not counting “Coronavirus”, of course). The single also marks the first new music released by Megan Thee Stallion since she was injured in a shooting last month.
