Chari XCX announces self-isolation album, how i’m feeling now

‘I’m only going to be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos... everything’

Charli XCX has announced a new album, with the working title how i’m feeling now.

Speaking in a Zoom chat with 1,000 of her fans yesterday (April 6), Charli explained that she was “going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch”.

“The nature of this album is gonna be very indicative of the times just because I’m only going to be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos... everything,” she added. “In that sense, it’ll be very DIY.”

She is pencilling a May 15 release date for the record.

Charli has been restless during this period of self-isolation, having hosted Instagram Live shows with friends and collaborators and sharing a quarantine diary with Dazed.
