With the impact of this being felt by workers, who are seeing their wages and hours cut, and some losing their jobs entirely, there has been a notable sense of solidarity online. With people coming together to spread messages of hope, the latest sentiment has come in the form of Lil Nas X and Megan Thee Stallion. Taking to Twitter earlier this week (March 12), the stars both encouraged fans to share their CashApp details, so money could be transferred into their accounts. “gonna send some of u some money to go get some food then stay inside,” Nas X wrote. Although Megan Thee Stallion didn’t allude to the coronavirus specifically in her tweet, the rapper did explain she wanted to show her gratitude to her fans. Last week Stallion filed a lawsuit against her label, 1501, arguing she was being prevented from releasing new music. “Hey hotties since y’all have been going so hard supporting me I wanna support y’all and bless them pockets real quick !!! We’re abt to have a #SUGASPREE ! Drop y’all’s cash app names.” This is just the latest news of celebrities spreading messages of awareness and encouragement surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, Ariana Grande took to Twitter urging people to “please read about what’s going on”. Elsewhere Charli XCX reflected on her mental health during the outbreak, while the likes of Billie Eilish and Caroline Polachek have both shared their thoughts on the issue. hey guys drop ur cashapp. gonna send some of u some money to go get some food then stay inside.— nope (@LilNasX) March 12, 2020Hey hotties since y’all have been going so hard supporting me I wanna support y’all and bless them pockets real quick !!!
