Directed by Harley Weir and premiering on Nowness, the “Thanks for the Dance” video sees American actor, activist, and former Disney star Rowan Blanchard play a bride who is caught between different stages of life. British model and actor Lily Cole poses like Botticelli’s Venus and then as the Madonna, surrounded by three infants. “I’m a huge fan of Leonard Cohen,” Harley Weir says in a press release. “His lyrics are so raw and yet so warm. I am honoured to be a part of his legacy.” Weir’s music video is part of a series of visuals made for Thanks for the Dance by Nowness in collaboration with the Leonard Cohen estate and Sony Music Canada. Her contribution follows previous directors like Daniel Askill and Laure Prouvost. Watch the “Thanks for the Dance” video below. Escape the algorithm!
