The Stormzy vs. Wiley beef continues with ‘Still Disappointed’

Stormzy’s new track follows Wiley’s ‘Eediyat Skengman 2’

The Stormzy vs. Wiley beef shows no sign of cooling, with Stormzy dropping another new track aimed at the Godfather of Grime titled “Still Disappointed”.

For context: after Wiley criticised the younger grime MC on Twitter for his work with pop stars like Ed Sheeran, he dropped the diss track “Eediyat Skengman”. Stormzy, in turn, responded with his own clapback, “Disappointed”.

In response, Wiley sent for Stormzy again with “Eediyat Skengman 2”, which included a line about Stormzy’s mother: “If I see your mum down Croydon market / I’m gonna rip that weave off her head, dead,” he raps on the track.

“Still Disappointed” is Stormzy’s response, and it uses the instrumental to Kano’s “Mic Check 1-2”. The track includes the accusation that Wiley put his mum’s “life in danger” and also takes a pop at another one of Wiley’s family members – his sister. Stormzy also suggests that this is the last he’ll say on the matter (“One more dub, then it’s back to business”), but who knows where this will go next.

Speaking to Dazed back in 2017, Wiley praised the new wave of grime. “Stormzy is doing a great job of (empowering youth) at the moment,” he said. “Even though I’m still here in the game today, the youth today who are searching for that empowerment wouldn’t look to me, they’d look to a Stormzy or a Skepta, a Lady Leshurr for girls. People who have got the power can speak. Speaking isn’t always solving, but speaking can be explaining.”
