The performers usually dress in matching Yeezy attire, giving the whole thing an eerie Rajneeshee vibe. In an appearance earlier this weekend on US talk show The View, his wife Kim Kardashian revealed the motivation behind the shows, claiming that Kanye initially used them as a form of self-healing: “Kanye started this I think just to heal himself, and it was a really personal thing, and it was just friends and family”. She added: “He has had an amazing evolution of being born again and being saved by Christ... people always ask, you know, ‘what are you worshiping?’ and ‘what is this?’ it is a Christian service, like a musical ministry, they talk about Jesus and God.” Kim Kardashian emphasised that although they started off as a personal project, the services have grown into something much bigger that Kanye wants to share with the world.
