A$AP Rocky will miss concerts as he’s held under suspicion of assault

Fans are protesting with #FreeRocky as it’s revealed he’ll be detained for two weeks

A$AP Rocky was arrested on suspicion of assault in Stockholm, Sweden this week, after a fight broke out on the street between his team and two men who were allegedly following them. Now fans are protesting with #FreeRocky and #FreeFlacko on social media, as it’s come out that he will be detained for at least two weeks as an investigation takes place.

The time Rocky will spend in custody, which was revealed to the BBC by Sweden’s Prosecution Authority, means that he will miss his huge headline slot at London’s Wireless Festival tomorrow (July 7).

Initial video of the alleged assault showed A$AP Rocky and his crew punching and kicking a man, but subsequent posts to the rapper’s Instagram suggest that the fight was instigated by the other party.

“They followed us for 4 blocks, and they were slapping girls butts who passed,” he writes under a video of the men approaching his team. In the same video, his team can be heard asking them to leave, saying: “go somewhere” and “nobody wants to fight”.
