FKA twigs in Practice

Watch FKA twigs learn to pole-dance in a new, behind-the-scenes documentary

The short film Practice follows the singer’s year-long process preparing for the ‘cellophane’ video

FKA twigs has released Practice, a short film that follows the singer on the creative and physical journey that led to her latest music video, “cellophane”.

Premiered on WeTransfer’s WePresent platform, Practice – directed by AnAkA – summarises twigs’s year-long process training as a pole-dancer for the Andrew Thomas Huang-directed video.

“There was a lot of hard work that went into making the video happen – on a creative level, on a business level, on a physical level,” FKA twigs says in a press release. “It’s all very well me going and doing a three-minute routine, that's easy. But the difficult thing is knowing that you have the stamina and the strength to do be able to do that three minute routine for eight hours, and that’s something different.”

Writing on Twitter, twigs added: “To complete my vision for the ‘cellophane’ video I had to learn to pole-dance, I knew it from the moment I finished the song in the studio. I am proud to share a precious part of my training with you.”
