Skepta’s new Ignorance Is Bliss album cover

Skepta announces his first album in three years

Ignorance Is Bliss is coming May 31

Skepta’s 2016, Mercury Prize-winning album Konnichiwa was huge, but we’ve not had too much music from him since, barring a couple of features and 2017’s Vicious EP with Lil’ B, A$AP Rocky and Section Boyz. That is until today (April 28), when the British grime artist revealed details of a new album.

Titled Ignorance Is Bliss, the record is set to be released May 31. There aren’t too many details just yet, but we do get to admire the cover artwork – seemingly a collaboration between designer and art director Manu Pillai, and thermal imaging experts FLIR systems – while we wait.

The image suggests a few themes: violence, love, technology, and fatherhood (he revealed he was going to become a dad in July last year). That’s just speculation though... we’ll have to wait and see.

Catch the reveal down below.
