Sky Ferreira is back with a new song, ‘Downhill Lullaby’MusicNewsSky Ferreira is back with a new song, ‘Downhill Lullaby’Yes, for realShareLink copied ✔️March 27, 2019MusicNewsTextSelim BulutMusicAn interview with IC3PEAK, the band Putin couldn’t silence Sky Ferreira is back. “Downhill Lullaby” is the first single to be released from Masochism, her long anticipated second album and the follow-up to her 2013 debut Night Time, My Time. “Downhill Lullaby” is a subtle return from the singer, a widescreen, cinematic, and melancholic piece of songwriting in which she sings: “I know that you are / Going downhill soon.” In a recent interview with Pitchfork, Ferreira compared making the song to a scene in Fantasia: “You know how all the brooms are making a gigantic mess and the water starts rising and rising and rising and rising?” she said. “It was sort of like that: Magical, but at the same time, ‘What is going on?’ And then cleaning it all up.” The song was produced by Dean Hurley, with co-production by Jorge Elbrecht. Masochism has been subject to numerous delays over the years, with Ferreira instead releasing covers, collaboratiing with artists like the Jesus & Mary Chain, and acting in films like Lords of Chaos and TV shows like Twin Peaks.
