Cardi B has landed her first movie role – a stripper film with J-Lo

Hustlers is based on the true story of a group of strippers who conned Wall Street workers

Cardi B has scored her first film role. She’ll appear alongside Jennifer Lopez and Crazy Rich Asians’ Constance Wu in HustlersDeadline reports. The rapper previously collaborated with J-Lo  on the song “Dinero”.

The movie is based on “The Hustlers at Scores”, an article published in The Cut in 2015. The story followed a group of strippers who conned Wall Street workers out of money.

The film is produced by Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina, and will be written and directed by The Meddler’s Lorene Scafaria. Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, and Julie Stiles will also appear in it.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women,” Lorene Scafaria said in a statement. “We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”

It’s Cardi B’s first feature film role, and a natural fit – she worked as a stripper before her Grammy-winning rap career took off, previously telling Dazed that she started dancing after being fired from a supermarket job. “The manager told me to go across the street to the strip club and dance, saying I’d make so much money and had a nice body, and ever since then I was dancing – Tuesday to Sunday, every day,” she said.
