One of them is Mac DeMarco, who has covered – in collaboration with Australian musician Kirin J Callinan – “The Christmas Song”, the smooth classic popularised by Nat King Cole in 1961. The song was shared on Bandcamp as part of Christmas compilation album Valentine Recording Presents: A Christmas Miracle put together to raise money for humanitarian group Direct Relief. Proceeds will aim to help those affected by the 2018 California wildfires, the deadliest wildfire season there in history, in which 98 civilians and 6 firefighters died. The album also contains songs from Weyes Blood, the American musician and frequent Ariel Pink collaborator, and Australian musician Alex Cameron.
