Blood Orange raps about Mac Miller in ‘Smoke’ remix

The new version of the Negro Swan track also features Yves Tumor and Ian Isiah

Blood Orange has released a remix of “Smoke”, from this year’s Negro Swan album, with guest features from Yves Tumor and Ian Isiah.

Pitchfork note that in the new version of “Smoke”, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes raps about the loss of his friend Mac Miller, who died in September this year“I couldn’t even prepare for the loss, what could I do but cry?” Hynes and Miller previously worked together on songs like “Self-Care”. The rap starts at 3m35s.

Yves Tumor is currently supporting Blood Orange on tour, while Ian Isiah is a member of Hynes’s touring band and also contributed to Negro Swan
