Blood Orange ‘Negro Swan’ artwork

Puff Daddy, A$AP Rocky and more feature on Blood Orange’s new album

Amandla Stenberg, Janet Mock, and Steve Lacy also feature on Negro Swan

Blood Orange has revealed the tracklist to his new album, Negro Swan, due for release later this month.

Dev Hynes shared the full information and collaborators on Instagram. Featured artists include Puff Daddy, Tei Shi, A$AP Rocky, Project Pat, Ian Isiah, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Steve Lacy

Janet Mock, who previously appeared in the “Jewelry” video, is also credited both on “Family” and as the ‘narrator’ for the album.

“I narrated the entire Negro Swan album, so I’m a part of all the interludes,” Mock exclusively told Dazed during a recent interview. “We recorded that earlier this year. It was just me and Dev in the studio and me and my notebook. I just started writing down words and recorded them with him based on different themes that he had.”

“Then he asked me to open the ‘Jewelry’ video alongside my words,” she added. “I just inherently trust him, he’s a dear friend, I love his work. I fell in love with him as a fan first and it grew into being a dear friend. I’d do anything to support him and the work that he’s doing.”

Other contributors to the album include Zuri Marley (daughter of Ziggy Marley and granddaughter of Bob), Amandla Stenberg, Kelsey Lu, Andrew Aged (of inc. no world), Aaron Maine (Porches), Adam Bainbridge (Kindness), jazz group Onyx Collective, and more.

Negro Swan was recorded in New York, Florence, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Osaka. The album does not feature the two singles that Hynes shared earlier this year, “Christopher & 6th” and “June 12th”.

All of the information can be seen on Instagram, or below. Negro Swan is released August 24.
