After cancelling their headline tour in May, Passion Pit have taken a breather and returned to face a full-on festival touring schedule this summer. The quintet's infectious musical burst of positivity is now finally out there in the form of debut album Manners, which should come as a relief to the band, after the mountains of hype heaped upon them that ensued from their Chunk of Change EP. Despite their grueling schedule, drummed Nate Donmoyer still managed to take the time out to give us his recommendations.

Can you recommend...
  ... three new bands?
Stephen Konrads
Magic Magic
Pepper Rabbit
Soooo all of these are bands I have met in boston and are good friends of mine. Maybe I'm partial but they deserve the world.

... three old bands?
Jefferson Airplane
Black Monks
Silver Apples
My favorite era of older music is anything from the 60's. mainly because I want to be alive between 1966-69. 1968 was such an incredible year all over the world.

... a record label?
Kompackt
I have a deep love for minimal techno and Kompakt puts out some of the best, musical, and uplifting artists of the electronic music scene.

... a website?
ouchmyheart.com
This is my friends' in boston's "blog" that was born out of their tuesday nite dance party called Heathrob. They are all some of the most talented dj's/artists/designers/people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

... a film?
Akira
I wish real life was anywhere near as epic as anime. This makes me crave for the future. I hope I live in the Tokyo of 2055.

... a book?
The Brothers Karamazov
This took me about two years to read. I would even take breaks and read other things and come back to it. I'm not saying it's the best book but it's definitely a masterpiece and I hope that one day I can create something with at least half that depth and dedication.

... something on YouTube?
Original Techno Viking
I know its old but this has had us laughing non-stop lately. I kinda wanna dress up as him for halloween.

... a radio show?
Revolutions on Emerson Radio
Revo is the best electronic show in Boston on the famous WERS. It's run by college kids and airs in the late night/early morning hours and is one of the oldest and most consistent electronic content providers in the northeast.

... something to do on a day off?
Make more techno.
Seriously a day at work is a day off in reality. We are extremely lucky to do what we do and we love it so on a day off you can usually find us working on more music.

... somewhere to eat?
Deep Ellum, Allston, MA.
This was our hangout before/after/during rehearsals. Great beer selection and delicious food and a perfect back deck and it's tucked away in good old Allston rock city so it's full of good people.

... a song everyone should hear?
Micachu - Golden Phone
I know its finally getting some press but I really enjoy her full length. There is really brilliant pop writing buried in unique and refreshing production and palette.
