During her show, she performed two special songs: a previously unreleased track from her Melodrama writing sessions, and a cover of Frank Ocean’s Blonde cut “Solo”. Journal Sentinel report that Lorde told crowd that she listened to Blonde when travelling back and forth from her hotel to a studio in New York where she made Melodrama. Lorde has previously talked about how Blonde inspired Melodrama, particularly the song “The Louvre”, with New Zealand’s The Spinoff podcast. “In this sort of post-Blonde landscape, we can all sort of do whatever we want in terms of instrumentation,” she said. Later in the show, after her “Solo” cover, Lorde performed a new track, which may be titled “Precious Metals”, with a finger-snapping beat and dramatic piano stabs. “It wouldn’t be the first night of a new tour without a new song,” she reportedly told the audience. Elsewhere in the set she also performed a reworked version of Pure Heroine track “Ribs”.
