Written in the summer of 2015, “Coin in Nine Hands” twists and turns over its eight-minute running time. The track starts with a slow rhythm, deep propulsive bassline, and disembodied spoken word vocal: “Last night in a city near the persian gulf / The heat soared to 163 / The heat soared to 163 / It’s already considered to be / One of the hottest places on earth.” It then slowly transforms into, respectively, a NIN-style industrial stomper, underwater funk song, and leftfield ambient track. The extended version of Sirens is out Friday and, besides “Coin in Nine Hands”, features an additional two extra tracks.
