The video for the synth-pop, Lynch-produced track stars is directed by Joseph Skorman and debuted on Pitchfork. Starring Bell as a leather-clad dom driver, she takes her love slave (Skorman) on a dark journey in a muscle car. Lynch however, doesn’t feature in the video. A smoky, haunting tune called ‘Beat the Beat’ was the first track to come from the Texan singer and iconic director's new EP. Bell and Lynch’s collaborative creative relationship has seen her feature on 2007’s Inland Empire soundtrack, while Lynch co-wrote and produced her debut album back in 2011. Bell is one of many musicians, like Sky Ferreira and Sharon Van Etten, set to appear in the 2017 Twin Peaks reboot. With this femme fatale music video character, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Bell peeking from behind the curtains of the Black Lodge in the upcoming series. The duo’s EP Somewhere in the Nowhere is out October 7. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
