What wasn’t revealed at the time, however, was the meaning behind it. According to one of the dancer’s featured in the video, the emotional clip is actually a tribute to the victims of Orlando’s Pulse nightclub shooting. The video sees 49 dancers deliver a thought-provoking performance in memory of the tragic event, which took place in June. Opening with the words “#WeAreYourChildren, it shows Ziegler running through an abandoned warehouse and wiping her face with the colours of the rainbow. Dancer Matt Moseley posted a still from the video on Instagram yesterday, along with the caption: “Humbled to be a part of this video. Thank you @siathisisacting. 49 beautiful lives lost. This is for you. #WeAreYourChildren.” The nightclub shooting was one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the US history, killing 49 people and injuring 53 others. Sia has been an advocate for the LGBT community during her rise to fame – performing at the Democratic National Committee’s annual LGBT Gala back in 2014. Watch “The Greatest” in full above.
