Music / NewsSampha returns with new song ‘Timmy’s Prayer’The London soul singer follows collaborations with Drake and Kanye with his first single since 2013ShareLink copied ✔️May 17, 2016MusicNewsTextSelim Bulut Sampha stays relatively under the radar. Despite having been associated with the London music scene since the late 2000s and releasing music since 2011, he’s yet to put out more than a few singles and one EP via Young Turks (home of FKA twigs, The xx and more). He's arguably built up a bigger name as a collaborator, working with artists like Drake, SBTRKT, Solange, and Katy B. Most recently he was heard teaming up with Kanye West on “Saint Pablo”, a leaked track from his The Life of Pablo sessions, that was eventually added to the album. Despite being tipped by the BBC to be the sound of 2014 three years ago, he's not released any singles in that time. That finally changes today with the release of “Timmy's Prayer”. It’s glorious. Posting on Facebook, Sampha left an image with the text, “Hello, it’s been a while. I’ve had a lot to process these past couple of years, as we all do. And it’s hard to articulate sometimes. I wanted to say thank you to all the people who’ve shown me so much love and support. I’m looking forward to sharing my music with you again. Sampha.” Listen below. Escape the algorithm!
