The image, which was posted last Friday (May 6), shows the grunge icon with two-thirds of the band’s original lineup; including bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur and drummer Patty Schemel. “With the girls, serving up a Hole lot of something. maybe 💖😄” the caption hints. Guitarist Eric Erlandson is not featured, but is tagged in the selfie’s lower left corner. Talks of a possible Hole reunion have been on the cards for years, with Love revealing last month that she believed it would be “more lucrative” for the band to get back together. “I would say I’m really proud of Hole,” Love said at a talk in London. “I can’t remember why I broke it up and we all still get along (so) why not stick it back together? …If we put something new out that’s relevant, but if it’s not new and relevant it doesn’t really interest me. I honour the past but if it’s not new and relevant how are you gonna do that, at 51?” Auf De Maur, who left Hole to join the Smashing Pumpkins in 1999, also shared her thoughts on the potential reunion in an interview with Blast Echo last month – though she didn’t seem as enthusiastic. “Courtney is a once-in-a-generation piece of art,” she shared. “She just wants to make new songs, (and) that’s cool but we’re not on the (same) wavelength right now.” “I don’t do anything for money,” she added. “When I imagine us playing outdoor daytime stages to, like, beer-soaked 20-year-olds who don’t even know Hole or listen to records, that doesn’t sound healing or celebratory.” Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREWesley Joseph is the Marty Supreme of R&B (only nicer) How Turnstile are reinventing hardcore for the internet ageWill these be the biggest musical moments of 2026?Rising singer Liim is the crooning voice of New York CityFrench producer Malibu is an ambient antidote for the chronically online10 musicians to watch in 202610 great albums you may have missed in the last three monthsZukovstheworld on the UK Ug scene: ‘It’s modern pop music’The only tracks you need to hear from December 202511 alt Christmas anthems for the miserable and brokenhearted Last Days: The opera exploring the myth of Kurt CobainHow hip-hop is shaping the fight for Taiwan’s future
