MusicNewsFKA twigs is releasing her own perfumeThe auteur’s scent will apparently be ‘a channeled work of liquid music... natural, raw and sacred’ShareLink copied ✔️May 4, 2016MusicNewsTextDominique SisleyFKA twigs FKA twigs has reportedly started working on her own fragrance, in a new collaboration with independent perfume label House Of Matriarch. The avant-pop auteur’s plans were revealed by the brand’s co-founder Christi Meshell in a WWD interview yesterday. According to the perfumer, twigs – real name Tahliah Barnett – was creating a scent that would only be made available on her official online merch store. “(twigs is) gutsy,” Meshell told WWD. “She's very anti-establishment like I am. She doesn't want to sell it at any retailer. Overnight, she's going to add it to her website. Her fans are dying for anything she drops.” Those of you feeling sceptical about the release of yet another sickly ‘celebrity’ perfume can rest easy, though. In a follow-up interview with Pret-a-Reporter, Meshell stressed that twigs would be keeping her integrity – and that the product would actually contain high levels of “magic”. She added that the scent would be a “very personal high perfumery creation as a surprise for her fans — a channeled work of liquid music, a compounded high spirit, natural, raw and sacred.” “(It’s not a) celebrity fragrance, 99 per cent of which have no energetic tie to the artist,” Meshell emphasised. “We are crafting 'high magic' here and that commands a certain level of dignity.” Although twigs herself is yet to confirm the plans, WWD reports that the fragrance should be available later this year.
