My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale... You can only get it on Tidal.— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016 Six weeks after this tweet, the album was made available on Spotify, Apple Music and other various streaming services. According to The Guardian, a lawsuit filed by Justin Baker-Rhett to a San Francisco court claims that he was tricked into paying for Tidal by Kanye West and, in the process, led to Tidal receiving a lot of new subscribers which earned the company money and allowed them to collect valuable data from the new signups. While the fan may have a point, it feels like a stretch to imagine this lawsuit proving successful. We’ve reached out to Justin Baker-Rhett for comment.
