Kanye West is being sued by a fan who claims that he was unfairly coerced into buying a subscription to Tidal after the rapper tweeted that The Life Of Pablo would not be available on Spotify or Apple Music.

Six weeks after this tweet, the album was made available on Spotify, Apple Music and other various streaming services. According to The Guardian, a lawsuit filed by Justin Baker-Rhett to a San Francisco court claims that he was tricked into paying for Tidal by Kanye West and, in the process, led to Tidal receiving a lot of new subscribers which earned the company money and allowed them to collect valuable data from the new signups.

While the fan may have a point, it feels like a stretch to imagine this lawsuit proving successful. We’ve reached out to Justin Baker-Rhett for comment.
