Unfortunately for us at the time, the track was only available on a limited edition cassette tape, which was given to audience members at his show in Harlem. Over the weekend, however, “Haldron Collider” made its way online thanks to music blog Disco Naivete, meaning that we finally get to hear the duet we never knew we’d always wanted. As expected, the track is perfect, with Hynes’ characteristic deep, bass-heavy grooves and silky-smooth voice alongsided Fertado’s distinct, falsetto-flecked, breathy vocals. “We should be dancing with the angels / a thousand halos in the sky / but we’re too far from heaven” they sing together, before the track trickles into a melodic, tinkling piano line.
