No blimps or graffiti this time, but Aphex Twin has just announced a new EP, Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt 2 comes out on January 23, giving Aphex-obsessives exactly a fortnight to speculate on how it going to sound, if his son actually wrote it and whether or not it was recorded inside a tank.

It's a fairly hefty EP, weighing in at 14 tracks, all titled using Aphex's idiosyncratic language. The Cornish genius spoke of a fresh creative impetus post-Syro, so here's hoping for more material to be released throughout the year. Let's face it, he's probably sitting on enough gold to keep releasing way into old age without even playing another note.
