Created by Michael Jai White, "Black Dynamite" is a crimefighting character, also voiced by White, who gets into scrapes aided by his accomplices Bullhorn, Cream Corn and Honeybee. A send up of blaxploitation cinema, the show has called on some pretty special guests in the past, including Chance The Rapper and Snoop Dogg. This episode, called "Wizard Of Watts" sees Black Dynamite caught up in a riot as tensions between police and public spiral out of control. After being hit with a brick, Black Dynamite falls into a hallucinatory, trance-like state in which he imagines that he's been called upon by his community to defend them from the police. We're not sure what roles Badu and Tyler will have, but we do know that it's a one hour musical episode. Carl Jones co-wrote the episode with Byron Minns. He told Pitchfork: "As a comedy writer, I feel it’s my job to make people laugh while using constructive social criticism to evoke thought and inspire dialogue". Given how police brutality has dominated conversation this year, not just in America, but around the world, it's bound to be a popular episode. Tune in on January 10.
