MusicFirst LookStream Two Inch Punch’s sparkling La Roux remix‘Kiss & Not Tell’ is synthy (and a little sad) in the London producer’s fresh flip on Elly Jackson's new singleShareLink copied ✔️September 24, 2014MusicFirst LookTextOwen Myers In her neon-lit, winking "Kiss & Not Tell" video, Elly Jackson (aka La Roux) advertised a booty call on a saucy hotline – as if Guy Bourdin was shooting "Confide in Me" as an 80s infomercial. Two Inch Punch’s glistening remix pops just as brightly, as the London producer lays a Glass Candy-ish synth shimmer to the track in a starry-eyed trip down rainbow road. But the original’s fizz becomes a little more contemplative: Jackson's "Kiss and not / Kiss and not" hook is pitched up helium-high and deep-sea low, splitting into a catchy and weirdly mournful chorus of voices. She sings of a longing to come out of her shell, yet it sounds like Jackson’s still hanging on the telephone – and it's a pretty sweet place to be.
